When can I apply?

Applications for readership should be made at least one year in advance. Tenth Floor St James Hall Chambers is currently accepting applications for readership.

Do I need a tutor on the floor?

Readers are required to have a member of Tenth Floor St James Hall Chambers as their tutor. It is also strongly recommended that a second tutor is from another Chambers. The Clerk is pleased to assist readership applicants with identifying a suitable tutor on the floor.

How do I submit an application?

Applications should be sent addressed to the Head of Chambers and will be received via email to the Clerk, Maxine Phillips.

What should be in my application?

We ask for a curriculum vitae and academic transcript to be sent along with a cover letter outlining why you would like to read on the floor and whom on the floor you would like to read. Tenth Floor St James Hall Chambers is now accepting applications for readership.
